• Monitor Exchange Server services. Microsoft Exchange is made up of a number of separate Windows services. Depending on your environment, some or all of these must remain running to ensure correct e-mail, calendar & security (anti-spam) operation. Should any of them fail, the monitor can restart them automatically, thus minimising downtime or notify you as required.
   
• Monitor e-mails can be sent & received. The ultimate way of verifying all components of your e-mail environment are running correctly is to send an e-mail & check it arrives. With the Quick Monitor, you can do just that! Simply tell it how you typically send & receive e-mails (e.g. SMTP & POP3) and the monitor will peridoically check that a test message can be sent and is received in the mailbox within a given time. 

• Monitor Other Windows services. In addition to Exchange itself, you may also wish to monitor other services running on the server - e.g. auto-start services, COM+, MSDTC etc.
   
• Monitor Exchange & Server Performance. The monitor comes pre-configured with settings that help ensure that key performance parameters are within expected limits - e.g. no. open connections, delivery failures etc. These can be further enhanced with other hardware & software counters, depending on your server's configuration.
   
• Monitor errors written to the Windows Event Log. Microsoft Exchange, Windows itself and other systems often write their errors to the local Event Log. Checking these regularly can help warn of upcoming issues and allow you to prevent them before they occur, but monitoring even a couple of servers manually is extremely timeconsuming.
